We had a very comfortable stay - the personal service was wonderful! We ate in the bar every evening and we were impressed with the food. Catering for a fussy vegetarian (me) was no problem for the chef. This hotel has beautiful views over the surrounding countryside which we enjoyed from the breakfast room. I woudn't hesitate to recommend this delightful hotel. Read less

The room was clean and comfortable with oodles of hot water in the good size bathroom. The owners and staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant.

The hotel is conveniently placed above the main street, although you don't hear the traffic, but you do need good legs to walk back up to the hotel. Lovely fire in the bar.
Dislikes:
The Georgian building has great potential but is in need of some TLC.

Friendliness of the staff who although were kept extemely busy were extemely attentive to our needs. Excellent choice of breakfast in a room overlooking the Matlock bath valley.

The location.Excellent fresh cooked breakfast.
Dislikes:
Although the bathroom was clean, we felt it lacked comfort and was rather industrial in decor. The panels hiding the plumbing were tired looking and the lighting was rather harsh.

The Temple Hotel is a wonderful comfortable cosy haven from which to explore all that the area has to offer. Local attractions The Heights of Abraham, Chatsworth House/Hardwick House& some beautiful typically picturesque Peak District villages are all within easy reach. And at the end of a day's exploration; the wonderful Hotel to return to for a well-deserved drink by the log fire in the cosy bar & a wonderful gastronomic experience..the food was fantastic (special mention the banana fritters!) I cannot recommend The Temple Hotel highly enough; from the location, the views (from the Hotel), the comfort and cleanliness, the wonderfully welcoming/helpful staff & the FANTASTIC food. Wonderful.
Dislikes:
Absolutely nothing.... no-one can control our wonderful English weather... and despite the rain, the Temple Hotel is a lovely and comfortable place to linger and relax.

The service was Friendly and welcoming, the hotel did not have a commercialise feel to it. The food was lovely. The room was excellent with great views and the bed was extremely comfy.
